Fee-Free Vanguard

As of today, Vanguard has eliminated the $10 fees that were formerly:
  • the custodial fee on traditional IRAs, Roth IRAs, and SEP–IRAs with a balance of less than $5,000;

  • the maintenance fee on index fund accounts with a balance of less than $10,000;

  • the custodial fee on education savings accounts (ESAs) with a balance of less than $5,000; and

  • the low-balance fee on all nonretirement accounts with a balance of less than $2,500.
What's more: Sign up for e-delivery of "statements, confirmations, fund reports, and prospectuses," and you'll find the replacement $20 account service fee waived! As every pf writer advises: There's no time like the present to start investing.

And now, Vanguard has given us one more reason to start now.
