Seamless Web

I discovered Seamless Web through word-of-mouth back in October, and found a $5 coupon on retailmenot.com to get a Salmon Deluxe sushi lunch for $8.12 - tip included! In fact, the site offers all new users $5 off for trying Seamless (coupon code: SWNEW).

Currently, Seamless is available in a few locations:

  • San Francisco
  • LA
  • Chicago
  • Houston
  • Washington, D.C.
  • Philadelphia
  • Jersey City
  • Boston
  • NYC
  • Rye Brook, NY
  • Purchase, NY
  • Stamford, CT
  • Greenwich, CT
  • ...and London (!)

...which is another reason I count myself lucky to be living in a large metro area. One minor annoyance is that you can only place orders with restaurants that are open at the time you order. That aside, Seamless lets you view menus & prices, popular orders, and choose an estimated delivery time. And it's so quick & easy, especially for days when you don't have time to:

  1. pack lunch;
  2. run out for a quick bite; or
  3. wade through snow, ice, or any manner of inclement weather (which deserves an honorable mention today, when it's 25 degrees out at 12 noon...for the second -third?- day in a row...and counting).

And not that I'm recommending this, but when two months passed without a re-order on my account, I was emailed another $5 off coupon (...which meant a nice lunch for less than $7!).

For full disclosure:

Update (as of 12/29/08): I received my $50 coupon in 6 days! It's no longer a $100 coupon as previously advertised, but it's still $50 worth of free food. It's a one-time-use coupon, however, so you can't split it between multiple lunches. And the coupon expires in 5 months - plenty of time to plan a nice takeout dinner & movie date for two.
